Location: English Harbour, Antigua
Today we completed our last two dives of the trip, and all those attempting achieved their advanced diver’s certificate! We woke up early and split into two groups, one to dive in the morning and one in the afternoon. In the morning, we started on Caribbean time and left 15 minutes late for our first dive when our dive boat arrived. In true Caribbean style, the dive boat managed to run out of gas on the return trip and had to get an emergency delivery of diesel from someone named “the kid.” Overall the dives were great, and between both groups, we saw a few rays, turtles, and barracudas. When not diving, we all had free time to roam the island. Most people spent their free time relaxing at a nice restaurant or walking around the docks in Falmouth Harbor. Our evening consisted of a very large amount of ice cream and a showing of the movie White Squall. This movie is about a school ship that went down after being hit by a squall in the middle of the ocean. It has been much talked about during this trip, but no one dared to show it before or during the Atlantic crossing. Safe and sound in port, we were all able to relax to enjoy the film and the evening. Only two full days left…
