Today was a crazzzy day, kind of, not really, it was pretty chill, but chill in a positive way. I woke the people up with a legendary mix of Ed Sheeran classics and Bruno Mars bangers, which they all loved (minus Theo, who had some choice words for my tunes). For breakfast, we had a yogurt buffet (which head chef Boston described as yogurt with condiments and tortillas (I guess he thought the bags of granola were packages of tortillas??? We need some more critical thinking over here)). After breakfast, the advanced diving group went for a plunge, which they set up the night before. Next, the first open water group went for their diveAND THEY GOT CERTIFIEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!
HUZZAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
While they were off adventuring, the rest of us commoners back on the boat did schoolwork and napped in the sun. We had a rolling lunchtime of meat, cheese, pesto, hummus, and veggie wraps. The fillings were delectable, to die for, Michelin star. Unfortunately, the tortillas were dryer than the Sahara Desert, but it didnt matter because the company was so good. After lunch, the second open water diving group got CERTIFIEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!
HUZZAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
It was a really cool dive. We saw a lot of new varieties of fish, and we even saw a starfish! The water was clearer than it had ever been for us. When we got out of the water, we all felt super proud of what we had achieved, and Grace N, Max, and I got to get a tow back to Vela in the little dinghy that we picked out of the water a few days ago.
Back on the boat, people were hanging out on the bow and taking deck showers. Grace N, Amy, Lillian, and I all jumped in at around the same time and swam around a little bit. We climbed onto the baby dinghy and watched James attempt to backflip into the water. It was semi-successful.
Since we were all squeaky clean, it was time to have an early dinner. The chefs whipped up some Spanish rice with vegetables, chips, and salsa. It was pretty good. I rounded the people back up for squeeze. We said our appreciationf of the day and also what is one thing that we would like to eat that isnt edible. A common answer from the staff was to drink the coolant for the engine. I said, packing peanuts.
After dinner, we said a quick goodbye to James, Eliza, and Emma, and they went on a trash run to shore. Everyone else just did their jobs regularly and started on passage prep for our departure to Almerimar. When the dinghy came back from their little voyage, they surprised us with ice cream!!! So, all the people got to indulge in a little sweet treat. Watson picked up the guitar and sang us some sweet, campfire-style tunes into the sunset. Twas a great day, twasnt it?! Until next time
Happy birthday dad
