Location: Somewhere in the middle of the Pacific

We started the day with a delicious lunch of sloppy Joe’s made by head chef Penelope and her sous chefs Courtney and Molly. After lunch, we continued our Emergency First Responder (EFR) training by doing our practical skills. We practiced CPR, back blows, and abdominal thrusts (please see photos) and then made our way on deck, where we covered our gloved hands in blood (ketchup) and practiced taking our gloves off without spraying our partner. After EFR, some of us were doing work in the saloon when Pieter yelled to come up on deck to see whales!!! We were all tripping over each other to make it up the companionway as fast as we could. When we looked out, we saw a group of sperm whales that were only about 15 meters away from Argo! It was so cool! We are now watching the sun set over the middle of the Pacific while cleaning up from a delicious dinner. With almost two weeks of passage behind us, we are all looking forward to seeing land again soon! Lots of love, Melina
