DAY TWO ON VELA!!!
Today started out with a cereal buffet and a few quick lessons on lines (no longer called ropes), parts of the boat, Gumby suits, and how to use the heads properly. We then were able to leave the dock, many of us helping with fenders and anchors. The crew sat together and enjoyed the incredible views and breeze while jamming out and learning a little more about each other. Upon arriving in Pearns Bay, we all FINALLY got to touch the ocean for our swim tests and ocean showers! Backflip techniques were definitely practiced. We all then enjoyed a bit of hang-out time and had a super fun dinner learning about Callum’s sailing experiences and Tom’s name!!! We finished out the day with our squeeze circle, and each shared what inspires us. Tonight the uncertified divers have their first meeting, and we’re all pumped for night anchor watch. Today, I think everyone experienced something new, shared a laugh, danced on deck, or made a new friend. As Audrey would say, “I just want to be done sleeping so we can do tomorrow!”
