Location: Galleon Bay

I woke up today ready to dress in my finest mid-life-crisis (Hawaiian-style) shirt in preparation for today’s activities. For breakfast, we had fruit and zucchini bread that Aiden made the night before. We then headed back down to shore for a tour of Antigua by van. Our tour guide, Kiesha, showed us the devils bridge, an old sugarcane plantation, and one of Antigua’s famous white sand beaches, and many villages. The devil’s bridge was a thin, naturally formed bridge of rock above the crashing white waves of the coastline. At the sugar cane plantation, we learned more about the history of Antigua. At the beach, we relaxed and took in the view of the crystal blue ocean while eating delicious shrimp quasaadilias at a beachside restaurant. Afterward, we made our way to Shirley’s Heights, where we went over the syllabus and introduction to marine biology and oceanography. At 4, a steel drum music venue started playing, and we had our first sign-out night. A few drinks later, we saw and found out that the Argo was back in the water. We then proceeded to reboard the Ocean Star (hopefully for one final time) for burrito bowl night and to take some after-dinner ocean showers. In anticipation of the move to the Argo tomorrow, we packed all of our stuff up before going to bed.
