Location: Barbados

Hello everyone! It is Perry checking back in from Barbados! We have sailed and sailed and explored many islands during our journey across the Atlantic, so our island activities have felt slightly alien. After over a month at sea, we are still settling into life onshore; however, this comes with lots of benefits.

An example of this was walking to our Open Water dives this morning! Kyler and I took Nashota, Hannah K, and Erin to complete some of their last training dives of the Open Water diving course. We dove just a few hundred feet from Vela, and got to see a turtle, lots of fish, and some cool brain coral. The rest of the crew had some study time for an upcoming seamanship test. After the excitement of the morning, we had a lovely lunch that consisted of turkey sandwiches with some chips. After lunch, we got to take a taxi to a town called Holetown for some shore time. The prized item this afternoon was (of course) ice cream. Some of our cohort chose the Starbucks route, but I believe everyone had a cold treat today. After the shore time, we had to pick up the remaining provisions (40kg of chicken) and hurry back home for dinner! We had a nice taco night with the nice, fresh provisions from yesterday, and just hung out for the rest of the night.

Thanks for reading!
