Today began with a bang, an exam. That’s right, our last marine bio exam ever on Argo was today. As I turned in my work for the first time in my life, turning in a test felt bittersweet. After breakfast and the exam, everyone packed all their gear for diving. We dinghied over to a cute local restaurant that was very clear on island time, as our food took a lot longer than anticipated. Once everyone got their food, it was time to GO GO GO!!! We hopped onto the dive boat, and I scrambled to get into my wet suit while trying to eat jerk bbq chicken wings…quite an experience. Once at first sight, we dropped down to around 80 feet, where we swam along a giant wall full of coral, fish, and even a school of rays swam by… it was like I was watching Blue Planet or some kind of Nat Geo documentary…but real. Following that and the spotting of so many cool creatures, we traveled to our next dive site. This one was a bit shallower, closer to 50 feet in depth. Here we saw rock beauties, juvenile cowfish, and so many other incredible animals including an 8-foot shark! WOW. Also, due to the volcanic activity of the island, the second dive site had methane bubbles. The guide told us the site, Champagne Reef, was named for the bubbles. So cool! Once done with the second dive, everyone was pumped and exhausted at the same time. We got back to the boat and relaxed until dinner. We then wrapped up our day with a lovely dinner cooked by Freddie, Elisabeth, and her sous chefs. Overall another incredible day aboard Argo.

Signing off and wishing well to all at home,
