Hi Friends, Families, and Fans,

Today was a good one!
Today was island tour day!
Our group was split across two mini buses and driven around this beautiful island, seeing awesome volcanic slopes and lush rainforest-filled valleys. We pulled over often to pick local fruits straight off the tree and try them. Safe to say, everything tasted amazing, with the sweetest of fruits being collected from the tops of the trees by a combination of tall students, climbing students, and students with long sticks. We then arrived at a small shack on the roadside, where we tried more fruits and some truly sensational jerk chicken. By this time, the midday sun was beating down on us and we opted for the best cool-down method we know… a waterfall. A short walk through the forest led us to the Emerald Pool Waterfall. Its cool green waters were exactly what the group needed. We swam and chilled there for a good while and then dried off and headed to the next waterfall.

The Emerald pools were beautiful but nothing compared to Trafalgar Falls. Driving across the hills, we could see it from miles off, and after clambering over rocks and up streams, we finally got to it. Words and photos do not do it justice. The noise of the falling water alone was insane. We swam in this waterfall as well, and once everyone was truly knackered, we began the climb back down. Once back at the mini busses, we got stuck into some fresh mangos and then headed back to the dock.

Normally I would try to mention everyone by name, but today it is impossible to single anyone out. Each student was as involved as the next in the day’s activities and, from what I can tell, had an amazing time.

Thanks for reading,

-Ben
