Hello, people of the land!!

Day 6 of passage. Cereal rations are going quickly. I may have to start eating live-flying fish off the deck like that kid from a few semesters ago that Ben is always talking about. If the flying fish go, we might have to kill and eat Luke.

My day started at 12:00 AM. I got my entire watch team (and also really half the boat) sick, so I got a really good view of everyones runny noses by the light of the moon (sorry, especially to Dan, Jesse, Lukas, and Claire). I woke up for the second time around 10:00 AM. Normally, Id take advantage of every single hour of sleep available to me, but I wanted to study for the Marine Bio exam, which was scheduled to take place right after lunch. I wasted an hour of my time eating breakfast with the 8-12 watch team and talking with Talia and Chloe, but I did eventually get a little bit of studying in! Lunch was peanut noodles. They were so delicious. If only someone (*cough* James *cough*) hadnt thrown out all of our leftovers.

Immediately after lunch, we took our Marine Bio exam. Completely unrelated to that, I think Ben is the best crew member and marine biology teacher that anyone could ever ask for, and he is so smart and interesting and intelligent and kind (Ben, if youre reading this, please bump my grade up a few points, please, please, pleaseeee). I spent the rest of my afternoon on deck with the 2-6 watch team. Grace N and I scanned for marine mammals. Eduardo, Mac, and Brendan tried to catch a fish (to no avail). I took some wonderful pictures of everyone, which I hope Emma will let me attach to this blog. For dinner, Ruby and Emma made Chick-fil-A style chicken sandwiches (made is probably the wrong term; it was more like they SLAVED FOR HOURS OVER and PUT THEIR BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS INTO those chicken sandwiches). They were so good that I spotted tears of joy in the eyes of my shipmates all around the cockpit. For squeeze, I asked everyone how they would assassinate the person to their right. Now that I know everyones assassination strategies, I can effectively protect myself from anything they might be plotting. That night, my watch team had 8-12, so we gathered our congested, snotty selves on deck and spent two hours sail handling.

My deepest apologies to all the parents out there for getting your precious children sick. If its any consolation, theyll probably never let me live it down.

P.S.

Love you so so much, Dad! Say hi to the family on Thanksgiving for me <3
