Location: Under Way to Antigua
This morning we woke up a little scared (but excited!) in anticipation of our passage since our last passage was a little rough. We all took our Dramamine in hopes it saved everyone from getting seasick. I am very happy to say I have yet to get seasick this whole trip, but I feel for the people who got it bad last passage and hoped they did not have to experience that again. We ate a yummy breakfast and then did passage prep to prepare the boat for our passage. It took a lot less time than the last time because we are all learning what everything is called and how to do everything. We then lifted anchor and got on our way. After raising the sails (shout out to Beau and Sophie for leading), we all chilled on deck for a while listening to music and hanging out as we sailed. We had people at the bow watching carefully for moorings or anything else in the water because we did not want to end up with a fishing net in our prop again. We then ate a wonderful lunch and started watch teams. We also had a class on deck, but I think most of us were fighting sleep under sunglasses. Oops, sorry, Nick – love the class. We’re just so sleepy! It wasn’t on purpose! I was on the first watch team, and as soon as my shift was over, I went and took a nap, so not really sure what happened next… I woke up to a beautiful sunset, and we all ate dinner and enjoyed the view. I am very grateful to say the passage has gone extremely smoothly so far, and we are excited to be in Antigua in the morning. It is getting very sad thinking about leaving in a few days.
