Location: Atlantic Ocean

Today was a bright and early wake up. Watch team two with Talia, Darien, Kiki, and I with our leaders Shane and Meg woke up at 3:30 am to be on deck by 3:50 am to relieve watch team one and continue the night watch into the morning. During the night, we watched the horizon for other ships and tried to see the stars, too, but that part was a bust. Nearing the first light, we heard a noise on the deck, which we found to be a flying fish that landed on the deck. I was quick to grab it and throw it back in the water so it could swim away. At 6 am, I performed one of the hourly boat checks, where I found another flying fish, but this one sadly did not make it. Afterward, we watched the sunrise from the sea and entered the sky, lighting the way. Kiki had the closest guess to when the sun would rise. Once we had light, Calum came out on deck, and we raised the fisherman sail and got up to nine knots of sailing. At 8:00 am, watch three came to relieve us of our watch. Following breakfast, I sat in the salon with Darien, Kara, Talia, and Zack. We listened and sang along to the music while completing our fish ID books. After working on our homework, we went back up on deck, where the head chef Kiki and her sous chefs, Cecily and Isaac, made us katsu chicken, tofu, and rice. Following Lunch, we had our two classes for the day. Our classes were Oceanography, where we learned about tectonic plates, and in Seamanship, we learned about the history of sails and the psychics of how they worked. Sylver also shared some cool history on Polynesian sailing. I then returned to the deck to sit on the bow spritz with Calum, Talia, and Darien to admire the Argo splitting through the waves. Olympus came to join us and shared her Oreos with us. Kiki, Isaac, and Cecily then made some great pasta with Bolognese sauce and a lentil red sauce too. After dinner, we had a squeeze, and the question of the day was, If you could live in any movie, what would it be? My answer was the Call of the Wild. Following dinner, we continued with our jobs of the day, where Kara and I cleaned the heads and emptied trash cans. Thats a story for another time. After our chores were done, we all joined back on deck to watch the sunset before parting ways for the night. Some took showers to get ready for bed, and others stayed on deck to continue their watch. Maddy and I took some time to do a little more homework before getting ready for bed. I need to be up at 11:30 pm for my night watch from 12 am to 4 am, so peace out and till next time!
