Location: Nevis

The crew awoke to a beautiful morning off the shore of Nevis and immediately divulged into breakfast! Captain Kevin and Tor cooked up a hearty serving of delicious chocolate chip and fruit pancakes, or “mancakes,” as Kev calls them. With an action-packed day awaiting us on shore, we were glad to have our bellies stuffed! After clean up, we all packed our lunches and plenty of sunblock and jumped in the dinghies. We had been anxiously awaiting our day on shore as we had heard some daunting stories about this bike ride around the island. Those of us who were looking for a less intense activity chose to horseback ride around the island. The horses were very well trained and could not have been sweeter. The group thoroughly enjoyed trotting through the hills and riding in the ocean, most of the horses like Big Red and Banjo love the water. It’s safe to say our favorite part of the ride was the beachfront! The bike riders had a less than relaxing experience as they pushed themselves to the limit! A physically intense 3-hour bike ride up steep hills and back down again, circumnavigating the island. To some, it seemed to go on forever, leaving muscles feeling like noodles. After some time exploring Nevis, we all headed back to O-Star to squeeze in some windsurfing and then take a quick shower before getting ready for dinner on shore. We had a delicious fish and chicken dinner out at Sunshine’s, a famous celebrity beachfront restaurant. We ended the night playing some highly competitive games of cornhole on the beach and sitting around a huge bonfire!
