Land Ho! After around twelve hours of traveling through the vast Caribbean Sea, we made the sight of our final destination at 6:30 AM, the British Virgin Islands. Watch team two had been surveilling Ocean Star since the early hours of Monday. Consisting of Amanda, Taylor, Q, Allistaire, Aidan, and myself, we were lucky enough to be tasked to bring down the mighty sails one last time on our journey. Sleep-deprived perhaps, we dozed off to bed at 7 AM before beginning the eventful day.

The crew had the opportunity to sleep in after a busy early morning. Breakfast was optional and DIY. Our Monday officially began at lunch; Taylor and their sous chefs made a delicious meal of chicken tacos. After we continued with our oceanography class, we began to wrap up our course.

A boat appreciation day was very much needed. The crew was hard at work while rocking to music for most of the afternoon, giving the scrub and care Ocean Star deserves. The rest of the afternoon was filled with bonding and joy. Card games like president and speed were played, and some were reviewed for our upcoming navmaster exam.

Dinner was delicious, thanks to the hardworking chefs. Tonight’s squeeze question was, “if the person on your left could be a movie genre, what would they be?” We wrapped up the day with a beautiful movie-like sunset as we cherished the last few days onboard Miss Star.
