This morning, we all woke up to the wonderful smell of french toast bake and canelazo (spiced Ecuadorian orange juice drink) for breakfast. After breakfast cleanup, the first victims (Drew’s words, not mine) headed down to the salon to do our nav master exams while the rest had free time on deck or in their bunks. After a couple of hours, once the first group finished up, we had delicious chicken salad sandwiches for lunch. While the first group of nav masters un-mushed their brains by napping, reading, journaling, working on group research projects, and swimming, the second group of victims headed down for their turn. The third and final group finished in the late afternoon, and we learned that everyone passed yayyyyy! Drew was a trooper, sitting with all three groups and correcting all of our exams as we finished. We then headed to shore for a fun surprise supper and sign-out night! We were dinghied over to Jumbies Beach Bar where we explored some shops a bit before sitting down to dinner. Pizza was a popular choice, and we all had a good time sitting around and chatting with everyone after completing our exams earlier. We also celebrated Joey’s 18th birthday with a toast (although it was a little late because we were underway on his real birthday)! After the sunset, we moved over to a stage, Kacy got on aux, and we started our own dance party. Drew and Amanda even got to dance! Elling, Aidan (or Stripes as we all prefer to call him), and Gavin all had a worm competition (Gavin sustained minor chin injuries, but he’s okay). Everyone had a blast, and we stayed out until about 10 pm when we were shuttled back to the ship (not before Q and Drew ended up in the ocean, though). Back on board, we hung out on deck a little longer. Kacy gave Gavin some gorgeous Picasso back tattoos, all while holding Cameron’s gummies hostage and trading them for pieces of garbage (even she doesn’t know what on earth she was thinking). We all slowly trickled down below to bed after that. Becoming a nav master is exhausting! Big hugs to the people back home, Je Vous aime <3
