Location: St. Pierre, Martinique
Today started off with watch teams as we were arriving in Martinique. Anchors dropped at 7 am, and everyone got to sleep in a little late today. We put the boat to bed and had lunch prepared by our amazing chefs, Ben, Kackie, and Big Ben. After lunch, we took a Seamanship test, which everyone passed! Then we had Marine Bio, learned about marine mammals, and took a nice swim before starting Emergency First Responder videos for our future certification. After a few showers, we had an awesome dinner of enchiladas. Today marks our halfway point on this voyage: 40 days spent learning new things about each other, ourselves, and boat life. Heather said during our day two dinner that this would fly so much faster than we thought, and I didnt believe her at the time. She was right.
I couldnt ask for better people to spend all my time with or better instructors to guide me through these crazy new learning experiences. Forty days flew like nothing, and I am so unbelievably lucky to get to go through 40 more. Tonight, we ended our dinner with the question- What has been your favorite day so far?. We all reminisced about our time together and laughed at the funny memories we shared. Then, the fabulous watch team 3 gave a surprise to the group. We performed our own rendition of Passionfruit by Drake- Passagefruit by Watch Team 3 (Sammy. Ben, Ella, and Kackie). The lyrics will be uploaded soon. It was truly an amazing day and a great halfway point; I cant wait to see what the next 40 bring!!
