Location: St Barth’s
Hello, family and friends of the different drummers
My name is Arlo, and I am writing to you all to update you on how our trip is going and the adventures we got into today. We all got up at 5 am to learn the ropes of sailing and put our sails up as we were about to embark to St. Barths. I was a part of the first watch group, making sure we started off our journey on a strong foot. This job entails controlling the helm, doing boat checks every hour on the hour to make sure everything is running smoothly, adjusting sails, as well as keeping each other entertained and awake 🙂 We then set off for the next 6 hours, rocking our way along to St. Barths, arriving at about noon. We slowly waddled along to the dock to begin the mission of docking. Our chain was apparently not long or heavy enough for the wild St. Barths water, and we tried probably 6 or 7 times before finally settling into the dock with two anchors. We all kept a good attitude throughout, and although we were all a bit exhausted, we got it done. We then had to wait for our ocean star counterparts to arrive before heading to immigration and checking into the island. Ben, Griff, and Gil then whipped us up a summertime Thanksgiving feast, which we all loved, reminiscing on childhood games as we ate. After dinner, we dinghied over to an ice cream shop, passing through stores such as Prada and Rolex and beautiful restaurants along the water (very fancy). It is now about 10 pm as I am writing this and we are all pretty exhausted and going to go to bed, although my dock watch shift doesnt end until 10:30 (I got the best shift). I will enjoy my full night of sleep tonight without being woken for a 3:30 shift and will talk to you all very soon.
P.S. Yo, whats good, pops? Tell B swizz I say whats up
