Welcome back ya’ll, I’m your host, Laszlo, here to give everyone tuning in today another piece of Vela news. Once again, thanks for being here, and I hope you’re all doing well. The weather’s cooled down (slightly) over the last week or so, meaning less sweat and cleaner benches for the crew. Similarly, seas have been slight, with a consistent breeze up on deck. Onto bigger news: Vela’s newly certified open water divers finally started their advanced course, beginning with their navigation dive. We had a few hiccups, me included, but that as well was a big success and seems to be serving as a big confidence booster.

Similarly notable were the Swedish meatballs made by our very own Alva Ahlberg for dinner that night, served alongside a cake straight from Barbados. Let me tell you, folk, you should’ve been here to try them. On a less positive yet optimistic note, the transition from long to short passages has been well received but has given the Vela crew a bit of a bump as they get used to their new schedule. Anyways, yall know I’m not one for long winding paragraphs and it’s nothing but blue skies, shining waters and white sails here on Vela. Yall take care of yourselves, and thanks for keeping an eye on your loved ones here.

Personal Note:
Hi Mom, Dad, Erzsi, Omi, Granny and Pupah. Been feeling a bit homesick lately, and I can’t wait to see all of your faces again. I’ve really been learning how much I love having more independence, but also how I think I’ll always miss the comforts of home and family, regardless of where I am. As great as it would be to have you all here, I doubt I would’ve grown and changed as much as I have and I hope I can give you all at least a taste of everything here when i get home. Love you all. WILY.
