Location: St. Pierre, Martinique
The day started off with an early morning sail out of Martinique bound for the Nature Island of Dominica. Sails went up fast and efficiently with a decent breeze to help us along. Once we got out of the shadow of Martinique and in the gap between islands the wind picked up, allowing us to have an exhilarating sail dancing along the waves. Shortly after lunch the lush rainforest island of Dominica loomed into view and David Stern gave a brief intro to the island specifics. We made fast to a mooring and said hi to Pancho, our local island connection. Then the crew rocked into a big BA (boat appreciation) where the main focus was to make the cap rails look super sexy. All worked hard and were rewarded with a very, attractive looking, Ocean Star! Its been a good day. I smile with satisfaction knowing that we are soundly at the stage where the crew knows what needs to get done and how to work together to make Ocean Star run smoothly.
