This morning was relaxing as we awoke with a beautiful view of Nevis. It started out as usual with breakfast. Following breakfast, Monika held a class to teach us a little bit extra about the techniques and terms of sailing. We learned things ranging from how to dock Ocean Star to the etiquette of boats passing port side to port side.
This afternoon, we all walked around Nevis. Every island has its own personality, but this one, in particular, had a very Caribbean vibe. Nevis has many small beach restaurants, one of which most of us had lunch.
For dinner, everyone ate at Sunshine’s. We had to take the dingy in from Ocean Star and jump out once we made it close to shore. Most of us reached shore dry, but due to some unfortunate timing, a few of us jumped into the water a little deeper than expected. Despite the mistimed landing, dinner was very good. It was comprised of salad, chicken, fish, and rice. The restaurant had very nice tables in the sand and was very inviting and cozy.
After dinner, we went next door to another restaurant because we could hear the sweet sound of karaoke. Jack and Chip serenaded us by singing Celebration by Kool & the Gang, and many others followed in their footsteps and sang multiple songs of their choice. Later, we returned back to our home, where we prepared to leave in the morning for Antigua.
