Location: Prince Rupert Bay, Dominica

Holaaa from Dominica. It’s our third day here, but it seems as if the views get better each and every day. Yesterday morning we “officially” entered into Dominica, and today we took the covid tests that will allow us to then actually enter onto the island. Very weird process, but gotta do it. I will say the covid tests that we took today were most certainly the teariest that I have ever done. Basically, the most I have ever cried from a covid test. I won’t go too into detail, but I mean, we all have had covid tests, and I am usually pretty good when I get them, but today reaaallyyyy reminded me why I don’t like things in my nose. We had breakfast when we got back and then went right into going over our knowledge reviews and having our exam for the rescue diving course. I can speak for everyone here when I say we are all super stoked to rescue one of the wonderful staff that is drowning or passed out in the water. It should be very, very interesting at the very least. After lunch, we all collectively had a great chat about our experience so far and how we can improve and make these last couple of weeks the absolute best time of our lives. (Not that it hasn’t already been the time of our lives because trust me when I say it has). An oceanography quiz and a very informative oceanography lecture were among our afternoon activities, as well as cleaning the bilges in the salon and galley. Special shoutout to Lucia, Alexis, Eulalie, Sophie, and everyone else who helped clean and make ocean star look even better than she already does. I then got to be the star actor of Lucia’s leadership movie, along with special guest appearances from Asta, Quinn, and Sam. I will say after the performance that I put on, I am thinking about going into the film industry. Not a lot of people have what it takes, but I am not one of those people, so tell your friends and family to keep an eye out for me on the big screen in the coming years. Dinner was ridiculously good, so a very big shoutout to Captain Hedrek and his sous chefs for all the wonderful meals that we ate today. Special shoutout to Mama Irene, te quiero !! And of course, the biggest shoutout to mi familia back home. This will be the last time I will be on here, so I can’t wait to see you all when I am home!! Love yalll!!!
P.S.
Hi, Grandaddy. This is Tate! 🙂 I want to give you a huge shoutout for making this whole experience possible for me. I miss you and am sending lots of love from the Caribbean! See you soon. <3
