This morning I woke up a little earlier than normal and went up on deck. I lay in a hammock on the bowsprit, and everything was quiet for a while as everyone was waking up. Cason made us oatmeal with the consistency of cement and pineapple, then we had our last dive day. I made sure to look across the water at a pineapple field on a mountain with each bite of pineapple to fully appreciate it. I then spent some time writing in a little journal from Rachel about why I love the ocean that shes been passing around, and it made me appreciate my last dive for a while more. The divemasters worked on skills in the morning, and my group went in the afternoon. We got to swim with 4 turtles, and Rachel saw a shark! I had a wonderful dive partner named Gavi. Also, Charlie was kind to me for once and let me use his mask. I had fun doing some flips before surfacing. On the dinghy ride back, we were passed by a speedboat with a local lounging at the bow, gunning it while reaching back and touching the wheel only once or twice. He waved at us, but I could tell he was really only waving at me because he could sense that I was as cool as he was. (I was sitting at the front of the dinghy, reaching into the water). Our glorious chef, Cason, served us hand-grown and harvested baguette sandwiches for lunch. Ive been deprived of tomatoes.
Ill be right back. I have to go retake the VHF test along with some other unfortunate souls!!!!!!!!!
Im back, hopefully I passed.
For the rest of the afternoon, it was raining, and there was a vibrant rainbow peaking through the mountains. Nothing here looks real. I called some of my beautiful friends back home. Then I skillfully mustered everyone into the cockpick for dinner, and Jonas almost shat his pants; the lactose got to him. The answers to my squeeze question ended up taking 80 years, and Arthur almost had a heart attack waiting for everyone to finish. After I write this, I am supposed to have a very important meeting about a possible logo, I think.
Happy late birthday to my cousin Peter, and hello to my family
