Location: Underway to Fernando

Today, February 17th, is the second day of our second passage! As we continue to get closer to the equator, temperatures continue to increase, bringing beautiful weather and small squalls at night. Everyone has been adjusting well to passage life after being at anchor for 5 days in St. Helena – its definitely easier the second time compared to the first for sure! Vittoria completed her first four-hour helm on watch team twos 4-8 A.M watch, officially making her a part of Erin and my cool kid club. Perry and Vittoria made buffalo chicken wraps with coleslaw for lunch, and then all of us students got thrown into the dungeon (salon) to take our first marine biology test (sorry, Mom, I totally failed that)! We then practiced deviation card errors using charts in Seamanship. We often get tired of spending our time inside due to the heat, so a few of us spent our time on the martingales, studying or doing laundry, as you can see by looking at the covered life lines. Erin is the pancake queen on board and took over Vittorias sous chef position in the galley while prepping dinner. At 6 P.M, our pancake throw down began, where we all inhaled an unhealthy amount of sprinkles and blueberry pancakes with a side of turkey bacon! We ended our meal with our appreciation(s) of the day and question of the day, Whats your favorite ice cream flavor? To end the night, we are jamming out to music in the cockpit while watching the sunset. Cheers to being underway for our second passage!
