Location: Mountain Point and Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda, BVI. Currently Underway.
After a breakfast of oatmeal, the open water divers in training set up their dive gear for their first open-water dive, while others went for a snorkel around Mountain Point. Upon completing the dive, we prepared for a short motor to Spanish Town, where we had some shore time and met up with our sister program, ActionQuest. Many of us used the internet and ate lunch before heading back to Ocean Star, where we went over the ‘abandon ship’ drill and learned all about the ship’s ditch kits in preparation for our overnight passage to Nevis. The crew did its final preparations for the passage while dinner was prepared. After hauling the anchor, we motored out of the channel and set our sails, followed by dinner and cleanup underway. Watch team one is currently on watch while teams 2 and 3 are getting some shuteye before our respective watches begin.
