Location: St. Barths
The crew of Ocean Star hit the beach early today over on the windward side of the island with excellent weather. After a few shuttle runs with a rental car and a few surfboards, everyone paddled out to catch some waves. Thanks to some instruction from Kevin and Marvin, many people experienced their first ride today. Marvin also put on a show with his skimboard today that was extremely impressive. After a sandy and soggy lunch gathering under a few palm trees, it quickly turned into nap time. What a relaxing afternoon! It was really nice to take a break from our constantly on-the-go rhythm to just lay on the beach under some palm trees and maybe watch a lizard or two come handle our leftovers. Many of the shipmates took the time to kick it in the beachside pool at a resort with some cold drinks in hand. Upon return to Gustavia, people headed over to Shell Beach to do some cliff jumping, which they recently discovered from some local teenagers. Needless to say, there is already talk about doing some sunrise jumping tomorrow morning before we set sail to Statia. St. Barths is an amazing place, and we certainly rocked it for the few days we were here. But it’s time to say bye to Franceland and see what the Dutch islands of Statia and Saba have to offer!
