Hello family, friends and family and friends of my new friends!
Today began with a leisurely wake-up of 7:30, followed by a balanced breakfast of home fries, fried eggs, beans, and a colorful assortment of fruit. The breakfast provided us with the necessary fuel for our first big day on the water. After a quick stop at the fuel dock, we motored out of the harbor and learned how to raise the sails and the importance of a tight line coil. Once raised, we moseyed around the coast while being escorted by common dolphins before dropping the sails and heading back into port. After docking, we split up into teams and did a walk-through of a proper boat check. Finally, we were able to freshen up before a lovely dinner of pita bread wraps before completing nightly chores and going on our first sign-out night.
