Location: Staia

Another action-packed day started promptly at 07:00 with breakfast. The crew then got ready for a morning hike up Statia’s volcano. We were met on the shore by a local dog that quickly became attached to Travis. The dog willingly joined the group for the ascent to the volcano. With a relaxed break at the crater edge, some ventured down into the crater. We then made our way back down into town. There was a little shopping at the store for some much-needed candy (Audrey). The local library was sought for the internet so emails and Facebook could be checked. The afternoon was filled with an amazing wreck dive of a 280 ft AT and T cable-laying ship. We were able to enter a portion of the wreck and swim through it. Dive group two reported seeing a nurse shark. After a big meatloaf dinner, we had OCE class, then sailing preparations for our morning sail to Saba tomorrow.
