Hello friends and family,
It was a very relaxing day on the Ocean Star today. We woke up to the smell of Katie’s delicious bagels for breakfast. Soon after breakfast, we had a Marine Biology class with Steve, where we learned about how humans affect the ocean. After this class, most people decided to rush to get their laundry done in an actual laundry machine with a dryer before our next class. This was a big deal because we have not had very clean clothes for most of the trip, and people were starting to smell. When everyone got back, we went into the resort and had our first class off the boat. This class was seamanship, where we used charts to plot positions and do stuff that I don’t understand and probably never will. After class, we had lunch on the boat, which was BLTs. Today was a provisioning day, so Katie was able to use the extra food we had leftover like vegetables, hummus, and chips which made this a surprisingly big meal. After cleanup, Sam was off to stock up on the food for the next few weeks, which is always an extremely tiring job. We then had free time where we hung out by the pool and used as much wifi as we could. Today was a rainy day, so it was less hot than most of the days we have had so far. Another round of freshwater showers was in the mix for today, which was taken advantage of by everyone. for dinner, we were treated with a scrumptious spread of Mexican casserole and then my brilliant squeeze question of what’s your favorite number. After we were done with our cleanup jobs, we help Sam, Ash, and Brahm put away provisions which was a solid group effort. Now we are headed to the resort to enjoy a night out.
Love you all,
Dohnny Jonatelli
