Location: Pigeon Beach, Antigua

The crew this morning woke up to 30 knots of wind and big rolling waves. But don’t fear! With J-Jo at the helm, everything was under control. In fact, thanks to J-Jo, Ocean Star hit an all-time record speed of 10 knots. It’s safe to say that we were absolutely cruising and would make it to Antigua in no time. After some great sailing, the crew enjoyed (or at least attempted to) homemade sandwiches, courtesy of Teagan, Ash, and Meg. Although some sandwiches ended up overboard or sprawled around the deck instead of in people’s stomachs, the crew remained unfazed. In the late afternoon, we made our long-awaited arrival to Pigeon Beach, Antigua, a spot we anchored in earlier on in our trip. After dropping our anchors, the crew couldn’t hold their excitement and immediately jumped into the water. We even set up a rope swing off the boom and enjoyed a well-deserved rest. For dinner, we ate some fantastic chili and discussed our fruit equivalents. To finish off our day, we had one of our last Oceanography classes and reflected on how much plastic we use in our daily life and how to be more sustainable. That’s all for today!

PEACE.
