Location: Pigeon Island, Guadeloupe
We began by singing a slightly off-key round of Happy Birthday to Anthony and eating cereal. Immediately after breakfast (and handing in our OCE literature reviews), we set sail for Pigeon Island, Guadeloupe. Although there was no wind to fill the sails, we made good use of our time during passage, making baggy wrinkles and cleaning the binnacle. Once we anchored and set up Camp Ocean Star on arrival, some of the crew went to shore to explore the tiny shops and snorkeling opportunities. We learned more about coastal navigation in MTE class that afternoon and then took a much-needed saltwater shower. We celebrated Tony’s 21st birthday with brownies and another birthday song. But the post-dinner celebration was most memorable when Dave premiered yet another slideshow with various Star Wars and Jurassic Park tunes to complement the masterpiece. We finished the day with OCE class. It was a great day.
