It was a long yet rewarding day here on Ocean Star. Everyone on board had a chance to do some diving today, including the Advanced and Rescue Diver trainees. As part of Open Water Diver training, we spent some time on the bottom of the ocean practicing SCUBA skills and chilling with our new crewmember Steve, the stingray. After lunch and a bit of snorkeling, we had our very first Oceanography class, where we received brownies and cake to help teach us cake tectonics. After that, the crew found themselves rolling with laughter at several peoples failed attempts to dive off the side of the boat during our daily shower. After chili (without Fritos but still very good) and sharing our spirit animals around the table, we took the first part of our emergency first response course, during which we all became distracted by the enormous tarpon swarming the boat. I think it is safe to say that the entire crew is satisfied with our day but ready to get some rest.
