Location: Underway to St. Helena
The day began with Emma helming across the prime meridian!
In the afternoon, we had an eventful oceanography class (we love marine sediment but mostly eat M&M’s to demonstrate its distribution) and a leadership class in which we passionately debated leadership styles. Our evening culminated in a dinner that was sprinkled upon. What a day!
Watch team 1, on the 4 am to 8 am shift, singing sea shanties, unfortunately waking up everyone sleeping in the chart-house to the banging tune of “What should we do with a Drunken Sailor?” Watch team 2 had the immensely thrilling duty of emptying the engine room bilge and polishing the deck. Watch team 3 play Love Island and “had the time of their lives,” according to one of its esteemed members during the 12 am to 4 am shift.
All in all, another majestic day on the open ocean!
Best wishes from all your loved ones!
And today’s skipper, Natalie 🙂
