Location: Underway to St. Helena

Hello,

We are still making our way to St. Helena; it looks like we are going to arrive in a day in a half! Everyone is super excited and hoping to see some whale sharks! This morning, watch team one (Elder Gabe, Emma, Elisabeth, Gabe D, Max, Nat, Beau, and Peter) had the 12 am to 4 am watch. Then, watch team two (Claire, Amanda S., Brina, MG, Gabe G., Nolan, Will, Elene, and Ellie (me)) had the 4 am to 8 am watch. It was a cloudy and rainy morning, so we could not see the sun come up, so no one got the orb question correct. After watch team two’s watch ended, watch team three (Ben, Amanda C., Audrey, Zoe, Tim, Nick, David, and Katie) had the 8 am to 12 pm watch. Then, we all had lunch. The Chef and Sous Chefs made noodles, vegetables, and peanut sauce.

After lunch, we had our first ID quiz for Marine Bio, taught by Ben. An ID quiz is where we all memorize fifteen different animals and traits that they have, and then on the day of the quiz, we identify 10 of them. During the quiz, Ben played a wonderful montage video of spinner dolphins swimming, jumping, and of course, spinning! After Marine Bio, we had Seamanship taught by Elder Gabe. In Seamanship class, we are reviewing questions that are going to be on our ICC (International Crew Course) exam that we all should be taking in a couple of days! Then after class, my watch team had study hall from 2 pm to 6 pm, while other watch teams had free time. After that, we had dinner. For dinner, we had recently caught Mahi Mahi, pineapple curry, rice, spinach, and leftovers. During dinner, Freddie (our Time Lord) told us that we went back an hour, so we all set our watches. The squeeze question for today was: what is your go-to movie theater candy? My answer was M&Ms or watermelon Sour Patch kids (they have to be the watermelon flavor!!) and popcorn. Hope everyone is doing well! Hope you had a wonderful day!

Best Regards,
Elizabeth C. 🙂
