Location: Sufriere to Rodney Bay
This morning started off with quiet wake-ups, with many people already out of bed reading or working on their upcoming assignments. As it came close to breakfast, Kara and her sous chefs, Eli and Darien, decided that people needed to be out of bed and set off the fire alarm to get everyone to muster in the cockpit. Breakfast consisted of pancakes and frozen fruit, which fueled everyone for a morning BA. Kackie led a team consisting of Talia, Isaac, Benny, Cecily, and Zac on deck getting dive gear away and rust stains removed. Eli spent some time in the engine room with Calum fulfilling his equator talent of oil and rust removing from the engine room bilges. Everyone else was down below with me getting everything organized and scrubbing the floors (which now feel super clean!).
After the BA was done, we ate some lunch and got ready to move the boat to Rodney Bay. Dropping lines and raising the stay sails, we motor-sailed up the coast. While we were underway, the crew had a leadership class where Olympus and Sylver presented on changing the world and personal change. Ben then finished up secondary care for their emergency first responder class, where the crew learned how to conduct injury assessments and splint each other. They are now ready for their scenarios, which will happen when they least expect it.
The day wrapped up with an early dinner so we could drop sails as the sun set behind us. We dropped anchor, then wrapped the night up with clean up and preparing to head to shore tomorrow for some shore time and a much-needed snack restock.
