The day has finally come, we left Prickly Bay Marina and started to make our way to Carriacou. Breakfast today was German Pancakes, made by Margaret M. and Alex. The beginning of the 8-hour long voyage started pretty rough, but as we got closer to the islands, we got into calmer waters. We also saw a pilot whale breach! It was quite big. Kyle tried his hand at fishing again but didn’t end up getting a bite. We also had practical sail training with Carolyn as our Seamanship class. We learned how to tie different kinds of useful knots today. Also, today was the first time that we raised the Jib, which is a small, triangular sail in front of the staysail. Dinner tonight was chicken and rice, as well as a watermelon and feta salad. We arrived at Carriacou in the evening and had our Oceanography class taught by Alex. It was just another day at sea, and I can’t wait for the rest!
