Location: Statia
Statia treated us very well today. First, she let us climb her extinct volcano (The Quill) along with Malcolm and Peter (interns for the national park). Then she fed us some great Chinese food and allowed the crew a free afternoon to explore. Statia has the quiet charm of a jewelry box and is, as their license plates claim, a gem of an island. We had a great dinner on board as the canned chicken dishes continued to grow in exuberance. We then had our communications final and are presently enjoying the rocking motion of Statia’s swells. This is our last night here. Tomorrow, we sail to Saba. So, so long, Statia, and thanks for all the fish.
