Location: The Bay and Port

TODAY WAS SO AMAZING!!!! I went to wake everyone up (for my job as skipper), and everyone was so excited for our first day of sailing that everybody was long awake by that time. We started the day with a very English breakfast of eggs, beans, and toast from the very British Chef Ben, which was delicious. According to Captain Calum, our group is more avid about card games than any other group he has seen, which I think is reflected by our late nights of playing Egyptian rat slap, Old Maid, BS, and way more. I want to teach everyone to play cribbage.
Unfortunately, Kiki was sick and had to rest all day while the rest of us toiled to get Argo ready for our sailing! I think most of us (definitely me) were expecting a pretty casual and windless day of sailing, but things quickly got interesting. First, a kite surfer almost ran into our boat and crashed pretty far from shore with one of their lines broken. Maddie and Olympus helped keep eyes on the victim until the search and rescue team arrived to help them.
Quickly following that debacle, the wind picked up to 38ish knots!! It was whipping, and we all got soaked while trying to learn how to work the whole boat.
Talia, Bennie, Olympus, and I all sang the whole way home, and then we had to “put the boat to bed.” At the moment, we’re all extremely excited to shower and get some ice cream.
Overall, it was such an incredible day. There are a few of us (Kara, Isaac, Talia, Zach, etc.) who have been trying to stay super committed to journaling every night on the bow sprit nets over the water and seals and even box jellyfish, yikes.
Mom, Dad, and Sarah: I miss and love you guys, and I can’t wait to tell you all about everything.
Kara’s message: To my family and supporters, thank you for following along! Love you all!
Talia’s message to friends and family: HI EVERYONE!!!! Love and miss you all… having a blast and learning a lot. 🙂
