Location: Statia

Our first day in Statia was full of a day filled with sunken ships, sharks, study time, and two surprises – an unsuspected rescue scenario and a night out. This morning we dove to depths up to 100 feet at the wreck of the Charles Brown. During the dive, students were ecstatic to see reef and nurse sharks, giant barracuda, sea turtles, and many different colorful reef fish. After the dive, students had lunch and then had SLD class learning about themselves and telling each other facts about themselves. We had a relaxing afternoon of study time onboard, with a surprise rescue scenario for those of us finishing up our rescue diver certification thrown in to spice things up. After a delicious dinner of curry, we had the announcement of a surprise night out and are excited to go spend a few hours together onshore tonight this evening
