Location: Underway to the Azores

Today we woke up all at different times, as per our varying watch schedules. My watch team had the 20:00 to 00:00 cycle last night and the 8:00 to 12:00 this morning again. Halfway through our watch shift, around 10:00 am, it started to get warm. We saw the sun a few times yesterday, but it was mainly followed by heavy rain. Today was the first real sunny day, and we had all been dying to get out of our foul weather gear. Lunch was a greek salad prepared by JP, Marion, and Lance, which was the perfect meal for our hot day. Following lunch, we had two classes: Seamanship with Smash and Marine Biology with Amanda. In our Seamanship class, we finished a lecture from the previous day and went over various light and traffic rules at sea. In Marine Biology, we had an ocean animal identification quiz and started a new lecture as well. Afterward, my watch team (watch team two) caught dog watch from 18:00 to 20:00 and had dinner while on watch as well. Dinner was pizza, which the chefs had essentially been working on since they cleared up lunch. Our bread maker today was Ethan, and he knocked it out of the park with his fresh pizza dough. Following that successful dinner was watch team three – one day closer to the Azores!
