Location: Underway to Dominica
That’s right, ladies and gents; we passed 5000 nautical miles on our log, the total mileage that we’ve traveled so far. This was especially exciting because I got to blast the fog horn five times to celebrate it. Besides that, we had some amazing food today, thanks to our Head Chef Sydney. For lunch, we had a Thanksgiving leftover casserole, so we got to re-live the wonderful memories from last night. After lunch, we practiced our seamanship skills of finding the course to steer, another skill we need to know for our nav master test. Later on, we took an oceanography quiz and listened in on a lecture for our new unit. After class, we had our standard shower time and all that jazz until dinner when we enjoyed some delicious Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches and held another trial for our game of mafia. So far, the numbers are dwindling, with only one mafia member left. We’ll soon find out who they are. Finally, we commence the squeeze with the question, “what do you like to do when you’re feeling a bit stressed out at home.” As I’m writing this, there’s a tray of brownies about to come out of the oven to celebrate Amanda’s birthday. There are lots to be excited about as we all take turns looking at the GPS and wind forecast to make our best guesses as to when we will arrive in Dominica.
P.S. Shout out to my family and friends, you all are missed
