Hello! Its Maddie, and I have the honor of writing one of the final blog posts! Today, as a skipper, I started my day off by waking everyone up. Weston, being my first victim, hit his head on the ceiling above him, and I felt so bad. After I woke up everyone else, we met in the cockpit for breakfast and debriefed on todays schedule, which consisted of BA (boat appreciation). Ocean Star has been such an outstanding vessel to all of us, so of course, we had to give back to her. Me being on the bottom bunk meant that I had to take inventory of the stuff that was stored below my bed, which consisted of a lot of extra food. Once I did that, I was able to pack up my duffle bag and wipe down everything around me. Once I was through with my bunk, I helped with the galley and the salon. I worked with Ethan to scrub the floors and make sure everything was looking good as new for the incoming crew.

After everyone finished giving back to Oceanstar and making sure she was nice and neat, we had a bit of free time. I spent this time going to the closest convenience store and buying some ice cream. It was the perfect afternoon treat after sweating all morning. After that, we all took showers and got ready for sign-out night!

Tonights sign-out night consisted of a BBQ right out front of our boat! I ate a hot dog, a burger, and some fries! We got to sip on some beer or wine, and it was a lovely way to end the day. While hanging out with everyone, it made me sad because I realized how much I was going to miss them. But I have no doubt we will stay in touch, and I love knowing we will all share these memories forever!

Skipper Maddie signing off,
