We woke up this morning after our first night of anchor watch, and left Villefranche for Cannes. Raising the sails for the first time took every member of our small crew. Even more so when Sam threw a buoy overboard signalling the start of our first man overboard drill. The buoy was successfully rescued, and we continued on our way. Our journey was interrupted one more time for a fire drill, and then we arrived in Cannes. Anchoring in Cannes we found ourselves surrounded by massive yachts here for the Bastille Day fireworks. We may or may not be anchored next to Saudi royalty. After a quick trip to shore to check out the town, everyone came back to the boat for a swim. As the evening wore on, boats continued to pour in for the fireworks. Currently, the crew is on deck, waiting for the show to begin.
