Location: Dominica
Wow, you guys are stuck with me for a second day in a row.
Today was amazing- we were touring the island all day! It started with me waking everyone up at 6:15 for breakfast. Once again, I forgot to wake up the fo’csle, but that’s okay- they didn’t mind the five extra minutes of sleep. For breakfast, Sam (with the help of Brett and Fizz) made us some delicious banana bread- it was truly amazing. Then we packed lunches for the tour. Shuttles started going out at 8;30, so we quickly finished cleanup and got ready for the long day of exploring ahead of us.
Once we got to the beach, we split up into two vans to see the island. Our first stop was a local place with fruit trees. We had fresh coconuts and starfruit- it was amazing! Ela and Sierra climbed up the palm tree to get some for us! Sea-cat and Armstrong (our eccentric, energetic, and wild tour guides) even cut us up some coconuts and put some sugar on them.
Then we toured around the island and got to see some gorgeous views.
At our next food stop, Seacat and Armstrong cooked us up some fresh cacao with pork and breadfruit (take a guess on that that fruit tastes like… yup, you got it, bread). It was so tasty. We drove around some more before stopping at the first waterfall of the day. At the start of the trail. There were some stands to buy souvenirs! The waterfall was soo cold, but it was nice because it was the first freshwater we had swam in in a month! It was also very beautiful here.
The next waterfall was Gucci smoochie, according to Hedrick and Brett. We basically had to rock climb to get up there, but I only slipped once (some others could not say the same, lol). There was a hot spring we all enjoyed next to the waterfall, although the clay turned everyone’s skin orange (and it still hasn’t come off). By this time, it was 4, so we packed up quickly to go back to O star for din-din cooked by Sam and Ash. On our way back, we went a different way around the island to see even more beautiful scenery!
Then we had dinner, and everyone was super tired, so my squeeze question was short- “What is one word your friends use to describe you.”
Anyways I have to go write my oceanography paper, so thanks for reading, and see you guys in 17 days!
