You guys, we swam with turtles today!!!!
The day started off strong with continental breakie, after which we launched straight into getting ready to move the short hop from Mayreau to Tobago cays. After dropping anchor in the really pretty postcard blue water– also, we can see the island from Pirates of The Caribbean where they abandoned Jack, from our anchorage–, we had a quick little pre-lunch oceanography class. Post lunch, we swam from the boat to an epic snorkel spot with turtles! It was a tiring swim considering it was really wavy but totally worth it for the turtles and other sick creatures we saw. Some people went to the beach as well to see the tortoises eating cactus, which sounds really prickly. After returning to the boat and preparing for an evening of beach BBQ, of course, it began dumping rain, perfect weather for the activity. Arriving at the beach, 80% were soaking, unclear if it was the rain or Hedrick’s dingy driving skills that did the job, and enjoyed a delicious dinner of buttery lobster and plantains. Thankfully the rest of our evening was dryer, and we had a much less eventful ride back to our home, O star.
good night everyone
