Hi Mom,
I can’t believe that I’m saying this, but this is being written in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
In the past 24 hours, we’ve had some excitement here on Argo. Last night during my 9 to 12 watch with watch team four, we saw a red light in the sky. Some say it was Jupiter, but most of us on watch team 4 believed that it was a UFO. In hindsight, it probably was Jupiter, but after being so many days at sea, people started to let their imagination run wild. I’m happy to report that no one was abducted. Today we had Seamanship and Marine Bio. I don’t know if you’ve been told, but we’ve recently started our Navigation Master (we call it Nav Master for short), and we worked more with charts today. We now know how to take a fix using a bearing, which basically means that by using things on land, we can triangulate the position of where you roughly are. During Marine Bio, we took our second fish ID quiz and reviewed it for our upcoming test.

After class, two representatives from each watch teams were brought together and formed a fellowship to travel to Mordor and drop the ring into Mount Doom… I mean… to plan what the class schedule will be for next week. This meeting took a lot less time than the planning meeting last week.
Finally, today, we were treated to homemade cookies! This was an unexpected delight as after so many days on passage. It is nice to have a treat after dinner.

Also, Argo wishes Wes Peacock a very big boy happy birthday. May this day be filled with joy and To’Mater Bisk (on my teef). This is the other Sam, miss and love you a lot and hope you’re killin’ it.
