Location: Tobago Cayes
It was another great day on Ocean Star! We woke up early to start passage prep to leave Union and head to the Tobago Cays! After passage prep, we ate breakfast cooked by head chef Austin. After breakfast clean up, we had oceanography classes taught by Carolyn. We also got back our Marine Biology exams, which everyone did really well on! Once class was over, we pulled up the anchors and headed on our way. Although it was a short passage, we still managed to get 5 out of the six sails up, including the flying jib. We are starting to get a lot faster! We were even able to turn the engine off and just use the sails! When we arrived in the beautiful Tobago Cays, we dropped both of our anchors. Morgana gave her destination presentation, where she taught us all a lot about where we will be anchored for the next three nights. We were given the afternoon as an opportunity for study time or just hanging out. A lot of us went swimming and saw a few sea turtles, and I learned how to do a front flip off the boat! Later we ate dinner and cleaned up! Now we are heading into our Student leadership class, where Kathleen will do her how-to presentation on how to salsa dance. We are all looking forward to it! That sums up day 26 on Ocean Star!
