Location: Bonaire
Today was our last full day in Bonaire. Breakfast was at 7:30, as usual, and Chris’s dad and stepmom joined us. After Chris showed them around the boat, we said our temporary goodbyes to Chris. We are looking forward to meeting up with him again in Jamaica. As for the rest of us, we were all given the option to wander ashore. Many people filled bags with dirty laundry, hoisted them over their backs, and made their way to a laundry mat. While others walked to internet cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, or ice cream shops. A small group of students hung back at the boat and did some more dives in the afternoon.
Nonetheless, we were all back on board at 5:00. After delicious burritos for dinner, we gathered in the cockpit for an OC-Falooooooon debate about artificial reefs. Lastly, a small group of us went out for one more dive. A night dive. It was AMAZING. There were tons of bioluminescence as we were descending, and a gang of huge tarpon came and swam with us. All of our time spent in Bonaire has been incredible. It is going to be difficult to leave tomorrow, but we all have high hopes for what Jamaica has to offer us.
