Location: Soufriere, St. Lucia
Today was the second of our student-run passages, this time led by skipper Robbie. Passage began with an early wake up at 5 a.m. for the deck team, by six the anchor was up and sails had begun to get raised. The navigation team, led by Fiona, worked hard all last night and throughout the day to calculate our course and make sure we arrived at the right island. The engine team, led by Daniel, took care of all the machinery and make sure everything is on when we needed it. Throughout the day we overcame challenges as a group and realized we knew more then we thought we did, with every action our confidence grew in ourselves and each other. When we arrived in St. Lucia everyone was breathless at the beautiful scenery of lush mountains, sandy beaches, and clear water down to the coral reefs below the boat. The day ended with free swim beneath Petit Piton and time to explore the reefs and a fun Marine Bio class which involved cake. Were now going to bed excited for scuba diving and exploring the island.
