Without the familiar rocking, the boat and our stomachs seem strangely at ease. What will stick in my mind won’t be the sea sickness though. If anything, it will be the incredible sense of looking out onto nothing but wind, waves, and maybe one or two more boats at the most whose paths happen to converge; as trite as it sounds there is something freeing in the sensation of needing to be almost completely self reliant. Freshly showered and having recently given some much needed love to the boat all are happy with this pleasant, if less adventurous, feeling of clean. After a few flips off of the boat to stretch out after the two and a half days of unplanned tumbling we can look forward to shore time and renewing our now depleted stash of essential snacks and continue the search for coffee mugs and a soccer ball!
