This Blog title was brought to you by Chance, who exclaimed that our collective goal as a team is to arrive in Tahiti in 27 Pieces (there are 27 of us). I headed up to the forward compartments of Argo this morning to wake up the sleeping crew, but there was already a bustle of activity going on all over the boat. Just like the last time I was skipper. On deck, there were people finishing off on their anchor watch; some were doing yoga, while others had gotten up for an early morning swim. Down below, Jack, Makena, and Sam were busy making everyone Dutch Pancakes while others were making coffee or studying. For those that were still asleep, I played my favorite wake-up song by an Australian artist by the name of Seth Sentry, The Waitress Song. Once everyone had had their fill of pancakes and clean up was done, the group moved on to Seamanship with Gabe and then Oceanography with Sam. In the afternoon, the group embarked on an adventure through the town of Puerto Ayora, created by Tomer and Gabe as part of their leadership class. Here are a few words from everyone about the experience, either how they felt or what happened to them: Pieter I learned that you shouldnt run in Birkenstocks. Chance Go team 2. They switched up the course halfway through.
Felipe I love to win. I collected the gasket coil and basketball (two desirable items) worth the most points. Max klay, Michael, and I turned up late because we got lost on the way. Olivia I loved seeing Gabe doing the slack jaw dance off with the song Good for You. Courtney I enjoyed beating Gabe in the dance-off. If I laughed, we would have all lost, so I kept the group together. Molly our whole watch team cheerleader style lifted me up by the feet to get a leaf from a tree while locals laughed at us. Kelsey no one wanted team 1 to win, but I think were the best, even though we are always late. Anna I felt sweaty. Toby I called my mom and sister, and I studied and some sleeping (wasnt on shore for the challenge course) Penelope We were winning, and then we lost, so I was excited and then annoyed (whirlwind of emotions clearly) Sandra a relaxing day at the boat, I missed my friends though (the people that all live on the boat cute) (also wasnt on shore for the challenge course) Big Mike hmmm, confusion. But it was pretty fun. Jack I agree it was a hot day but overall a great time. Anton um, wow, ok, soooooo fun. Id love to do that in Marquesas and Tahiti. Great way to explore the island while working with friends and being a team. Ummmmm awesome.
Alexandra it was going great until 2 minutes in when Felipe tagged me, and it all went downhill from then. Emma I felt like it was a lot of running, it was fun but I second what Anna said. Makena Oooooh, exhausted but exhilarated. Had so much fun with my favorite watch team, team 3. Klay Mmm, mmmm, ok, it was a great and wonderful bonding experience to have with the crew of Argo. Melina mmmmm hahahaa um it was a great bonding experience with the best watch team evaaaa. Watch team 3. For the rest of the details, youll have to ask them yourselves, but it sounds to me like an unusual, wonderful afternoon in the Galapagos.
