Wowowowow what a wonderful day. So many things happened today, and so many of them were wonderful. So, I’ll just give you a quick list. For some context, I’m on watch team Slytherin, and we had the 8-12, 8-12 watch. While we were on watch this morning, we pulled into sight of Bonaire, and shortly thereafter, we docked on this super fun, beautiful, flat island. Okay, here’s the list of all the things that made me say “yay” today:

– Team Slytherin struck THREE sails. One led by Jack – let’s go, Jack!
– We cleaned out the line locker. What a delight. You can’t even guess how many things that weren’t line were just shoved in the line locker
– Land Ho! – Bonaire is in sight. And boy, is it flat (great for wind sports).
– FLAMINGOS!!!! There was a flock of flamingos flying across the horizon. All in a cute little pink line. There were probably eight of them. Just flying around and being pink. In the wild. Ah!!!
– We passed a salt mine – it looked like some set of a Mario cart race, but it was real.
– Docked in Bonaire in THE SICKEST spot – literally steps away from the beach and the most blue whatever you ever could see. Plus, our very own Macaire put us on the dock. Flawless.
– Then we had a surprisingly fun field trip to the airport to get cleared in, which involved getting on a colorful bus and taking a joyride around the island. It was like a mini tour with no information.
– Every airport wouldn’t be complete without a quick stop at the mini store in which we clear them out of all sweets and cold drinks
– DUCK NOODLE SOUP. It was so delish. And the aromas were like a whole meal themselves. Was it slightly delayed due to the impromptu airport visit? Yes. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely.
-Rose, bud, thorn
-Free time on the dock – what is getting to go for a short walk and feeling stable while doing it??

Everything is so cool, and I’m so excited to be in Bonaire!!!! I told the group tonight that I’m having so much fun on this trip, and to me, that’s a sign of a good trip. Andddd I can’t wait for everyone to see what comes next (I make the schedule, so I have a sneak preview – and it is sick).

Woooo!

P.S. Just to reiterate – we saw a flock of wild flamingos flying in the wild. Incredible.
